Enterprise Data Visualization Dashboard

BACKGROUND AND BUSINESS GOAL

The client had used a basic React admin library to prototype their aggregate dashboard idea. The next step was to redesign the dashboard from scratch, combining a blend of aesthetics and usability with the commercial real estate end users in mind. The designs were shown to various large enterprise users to get buy-in and feedback.

PROCESS AND ROLE

I interviewed various industry experts who were points of contact of the end users, revealing the problems the end users were facing, their business goals and motivations. This revealed a complex hierarchy of user types with varying motives, and goals, each within a chain of operations in the property management and commercial real estate industry. I was then briefed on various look-and-feels, and started to create high fidelity user flows addressing the most highly prioritized problems. This involved identifying the various types of data that need to be visualized and the aspects that need to be customizable. I broke down the varying data types to fit a set of widgets that I designed, ensuring that the widgets are customizable enough to meet the goals of the users but not overwhelming them with choice.
